Goat Monster of Karoi (Folktale)

It was on a Saturday afternoon I had just disembarked from a CAG bus code named Mzilikazi coming from Bulawayo into Karoi town at Eat n lick.

That same day there were some celebrations happening for Hurungwe day ,a celebration of Hurungwe province and its best farming activities.People marched, dancing, drinking having all sorts of fun.

A young man then came along the celebrations carrying a mugomo full of water on his had with a nicely tied hata. He looked at the festival while balancing his mugomo well and proceeded with his journey.

As the people continued enjoying the drum beats, one young pretty girl noticed the the handsome young man and called him over.

The guy refused but the girl insisted and pulled him and started dancing erotically infront of the guy.Other girls also joined dancing infront of the guy, the man was surprised and shocked as he wanted to mind his business.

The movements of the girls were now too much that his mugomo full of water was nolonger balancing well and now spilling splashing all over.

With too much splashes and spilling the man started changing his feet turning into goat trouters and his body transforming.

The young girl noticed that the young man suddenly started growing taller and the mugomo was also becoming big and she screamed. All the people got alert and shocked at what they were seeing transforming.

Chaos happened as everyone run for cover as the young man turned into a huge monster goat. The monster goat was grabbing people and swallowing them alive.Alot of people were put into the mugomo by the monster as it was drinking them as juice. All the celebrations had suddenly come to a halt as everyone was trying to survive what had become a horror movie.

As everyone disappeared from the scene , after a while, the young man returned to normal and carried his mugomo and was never seen again till this day.

It was a day that many would never forget in Karoi.Till this day no male person is allowed to carry a mugomo on the head in the town of Karoi and Hurungwe at large as they fear it may be the return of the goat monster.

Life Lesson: When a person is minding their business let them be, don't get involved as it may have implications on you or others.
