The Farm Girl : Folktale

Once upon a time at a farm in Sharewood Kwekwe lived a beautiful farm maid named Sarudzai, she was sent by her madam to go and pick vegetables from the farm field.

As she passed by the farm workshop, she saw some of her workmates being harassed by the farm owner Mr Brown.

Sarudzai had taken some time picking the vegetables at the field, she saw her madam Mrs Brown standing outside the house waiting for her to make her coffee. She said 'you slow lazy girl, make me Jacobs coffee with black cat peanut butter on my bread now.

Sarudzai immediately went inside and did what she had been asked to do,

while doing so ,she took some fruits/bread/sweets to go give her children at the compound ,after she had finished her work for the day.

The little children were very excited and happy to receive the goodies , her husband was coming in a distant from the fields, he was the farm foreman, he was named Kahembe.

Kahembe took his wife and sat down asking her how her day been at work,

as they where chatting Kahembe kissed his wife and held her from the breast, saying lets go to bed

But in the dark shadows someone was coming looking drunk, who could that be said Kahembe?

Kahembe quickly gave that person a huge fist only figuring late that its Mr Brown as he thought it was mad man from the local bush known as Van Choga. Brown had lost his way as he was a big drunkard

Why did you have to do that, you could have asked first than beating that man up said Sarudzai. Mr Brown managed to get up and went home, Kahembe and wife went to bed as well but kept wondering what would happen next day.

Mr Brown came the next day with his work mate and captured Kahembe so they could hang him for what he had done to him. Sarudzai cried pleading to Mr Brown to forgive Kahembe saying I will pay for what he has done to you, but first

let me talk to Kahembe said Sarudzai. She went to her husband saying am sorry my love, I will talk to Mr Brown. As she was hugging her husband Brown quickly said Sarudzai come here, we haven't got all day.

Sarudzai was taken to a room near by, Brown quickly said where is may payment ? The lady offered herself to Brown. Oh I have never tasted african honey this is my chance to feel it, Sarudzai as she wanted to free her husband undressed and gave Brown the honey pot, within seconds Brown had finished and was amazed the how good Sarudzai was, he told Sarudzai that Mrs Brown was not this good at all. Now go and free your man, he is lucky to have a wife like you.

Kahembe was released by Brown and told to always ask first before taking action. Kahembe wondered what had made Brown to release him just like that. He asked his wife what had changed Browns mind but Sarudzai said just thank the lord you are free the rest is history now.

Lesson: Women sacrifice themselves for the ones they love in many ways, just thank them don't ask how cause it may even break your heart.
