The World Health Organisation (WHO) has warned people across the world not to handle cash, saying that dirty money may be responsible for spreading the coronavirus.
The World Health Organisation which has renamed the deadly disease Covid-19 said that contaminated paper money may be contributing to the spread of the disease which has since spread to over 87 countries and territories around the world
According to the organisation, the coronavirus may stick to the surface of banknotes for days which increases the risk of it being passed from one person to another.
WHO has since cautioned people to avoid using banknotes and is advocating for using payment methods which do not involve contact.
The organisation went on to say that in the event someone must absolutely use cash, then they should wash their hands using soap or use hand sanitizer. Washing your hands with soap and water or using alcohol-based hand rub kills viruses that may be on your hands.
